North American robot orders increased 24.8% in third quarter

North American companies ordered 10,989 robots valued at $723.5 million in Q3 2026, up 24.8% in units and 26.1% in value from a year earlier, according to the Association for Advancing Automation (A3). It was the strongest quarter of the year so far, lifting nine-month orders to 28,984 robots worth about $1.89 billion. Growth broadened beyond autos, with automotive component orders up 90.4% and gains in semiconductors, electronics and life sciences.
