WMS Gives Traceability for Nonwovens

Mexican textile manufacturer Polímeros y Derivados has implemented Mecalux's Easy WMS at its finished-goods center in León, Guanajuato, replacing years of manual processes and color-coding. Integrated with Microsoft Dynamics ERP, the system captures dimensions, lot and serial numbers, and customer codes via RF devices, delivering full traceability of nonwoven fabric rolls from production to dispatch. The case shows WMS value goes beyond efficiency: lot-level traceability is what stands up to quality claims and customer audits.

Kaspersky: Hackers could access warehouse software through wireless barcode scanners

Kaspersky Security Services has discovered a new cyber-attack vector in warehouse environments: a wireless barcode scanner model from a major manufacturer — with the pattern observed across devices from multiple vendors. Attackers could hitch a ride on Bluetooth links to scanners or printers and then gain access to the WMS and other networked software. Kaspersky recommends verifying every new device before it connects, disabling unused Bluetooth interfaces, enforcing strong authentication, segmenting warehouse networks, and applying security updates promptly.

Blue Yonder Is Redesigning Supply Chain Software Around Decisions, Not Screens
